Departures available daily at 7:15 AM or 10:15 AM
Step into the excitement of the Maeklong Railway Market, where stalls are whisked away just moments before the train speeds through. Then hop on a traditional long-tail boat at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, weaving along bustling canals and catching glimpses of riverside life. The journey also takes you to Wat Bang Kung, a remarkable temple known for its ancient tree-covered chapel.
Experience some of Thailand’s most unique and colorful markets on this tour, beginning with the Maeklong Railway Market. Known locally as the ‘umbrella pulldown market,’ this extraordinary market stretches along an active railway line. Established in the early 1900s, it has grown up around the tracks, selling fresh produce, seafood, and local goods. Several times a day, the distant sound of a train sends vendors into action, folding back awnings and pulling their wares away from the rails, only to set them back in place moments after the train passes. Witnessing this precise, practiced scramble is a fascinating glimpse into local life and a truly unforgettable sight.
Next, we travel to the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Dug in the 19th century during the reign of King Rama IV to improve trade and transport, the network of narrow canals is now filled with boats carrying fresh fruits, local snacks, and handcrafted goods. The riverbanks bustle with colorful stalls, creating a lively atmosphere where you can enjoy the sights, sounds, and flavors of a traditional floating market. While it has become a popular tourist attraction, it remains one of the best places to experience this unique way of trading.
Finally, we visit Wat Bang Kung, one of Amphawa District’s most iconic temples. This remarkable site is almost completely enveloped by the roots and branches of a giant banyan tree, which have grown over the centuries to lock the building in a natural embrace. Inside, you’ll find a golden Buddha, a serene reminder of the temple’s spiritual significance and enduring charm.
(Visitors must be properly dressed when visiting temple. Shoulders need to be covered.)

Hands down one of the best group tours I’ve ever experienced!
Hands down one of the best group tours I’ve ever experienced! The reason I decided for Wander Siam was due to all the outstanding reviews and the tour lived up to the expectations.
Mam is incredibly kind, knowledgeable & generous; and our driver was great too – confident in his driving on crazy Thai roads, which made me feel safe on the way.
The tour started with pick up at 7am (make sure you check the departure time the evening before), and despite us running late Mam welcomed us with a big smile and reassurance that it’s all good.
Our group was small, 4 of us in total, so it felt like a private tour. The two additional individuals were solo travellers and I was there with my work colleague, but it felt like all 4 of us knew each other for ever, which gave the tour an even better feeling.
As we set off to the train market Mam explained a bit about Thai history, their challenges and how Thailand became what it is today. She also answered all our questions with ease and smile on her face.
Our first stop was the train market which was something completely different – Mam guided us down the tracks, took photo of us on the train and then guided us back through the side roads to the right place for seeing the train in action. I could tell she has done this several times before as she knew exactly where to be at what time for the best view. And not only that – she also treated us to a souvenir which was totally unexpected but highly appreciated.
After the market we headed to the temple where we learnt even more about Thai culture and the history of the temple. This stop was a bit shorter, as Mam wanted to show us the Coconut sugar factory upon our request (this was not planned, so it really shows how much she wanted us to see and experience all that we can in the few hours we had together).
Our last stop was the floating market – full of people, colours and opportunities to shop, although Mam advised us to buy the souvenirs at the train market as it’s way cheaper. Here we were treated to a refreshing coconut, courtesy of Mam – yet another unexpected gesture that went a long way!
On our way back we all had a little rest – the day was quite long but super enjoyable. We were all dropped off at the same stop that we all agreed to.
This tour is rather fast paced, but packed with smiles, kindness, shopping & photo opportunities – everything one needs for a lovely day.
I will be back to see Mam next time I’m in Thailand, and I wholeheartedly recommend one of her tours to everyone.
Thank you Mam & our driver – you created life long memories for all of us.
So grateful for your guidance, knowledge energy, love, kindness and generosity. You are awesome!!
Lots of love & blessings, Tjasa

This experience was fabulous!
This was a fabulous experience! This was my husband and I’s first time in Bangkok. We booked the trip and hoped for the best! Siam, our tour guide, was so kind to wait for us when we were running about 15 minutes late. Her English was perfect. The floating markets were the highlight of our entire trip! If you’re on the fence about booking the trip, I would 10/10 recommend it! Our transportation was an air conditioned van (which was so necessary in May)! We even visited a couple of the temples and were able to see the railway market and floating markets still.

Do not miss this Floating Market tour!
We had an incredible day! Mim was the most wonderful guide. She was kind and very knowledgeable, and clearly cared about us having a good time. The temple we visited was a local one, and super interesting. Mim ensured that we walked around the Buddha for good luck. Then we visited the Maeklong Train Market, which was an amazing experience, and one not to miss. Mim bought us some snacks, and then took us to the beautiful Damnoen Saduak floating market. We had a lovely lunch, and then hopped into traditionally paddled long tailed boats for some shopping and sight seeing. We highly recommend WanderSiam, and Mim any time you’re in Bangkok!

Exactly what I wanted!
As a foreigner visiting Bangkok, Thailand for the first time and with only a few days to get the most out of my trip, this agency exceeded my expectations. I booked through Airbnb Experiences for me and my parents. These two markets are must-do’s personally! Our guide Madam Suriel was such a delight, she was so funny and so knowledgeable. She was so kind, helpful, and understanding. I would definitely recommend her!
The trip started with a driver picking us up from our hotel, we chose to tour with a group as well. In a big AC van, we made our way to the first Railway Market, it was timed perfectly and we got to witness the beautiful chaos! I was happy to find out that the train starts off slow and you actually get to take a picture in front of it. We got a little time to shop around, which was enough for me.
Next we visited a unique small temple, where we were told some interesting history. After that, it was time for the floating market, this is where we spent most of our time. Upon arrival we got 1 hour to eat lunch and browse around to shop. Then we got on the boats and had about a 1 hour. This was such a nice experience and we got to do more shopping, even got some mango sticky rice and beer from one of the boat vendors!
I was happy that this tour had enough bathroom and food breaks, if needed.
The ride back was also so relaxing, after a long exciting hot day, snoozing in the AC was much needed.
Overall a great experience! (Worth the reasonable amount!) Thank you and thank you M’am Suriel!
